Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Electrical Engineer performs system calculations and studies for the design of electrical systems, develops technical specifications for production of technical electrical drawings associated with new or existing communication sites. This will include primary and secondary power systems that provide uninterrupted and generator backup power to the Company’s and third party communication sites. Must have a thorough working knowledge of national electric codes and standards.
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*
Assumes and carries out responsible charge for electrical system design and implementation from concept to completion for inclusion in A&E construction drawings.
*
Professional review and sealing of A&E electrical drawings.
*
Design, develop, and provide maintenance guidance of electrical systems and or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.
*
Review, revise, and approve all electrical designs submitted by outside carriers.
*
Communication with outside entities (e.g., electricians, jurisdictions, construction managers, and general contractors) as needed.
*
Work with project and construction managers to assure the work meets business needs, applicable codes, and standards of quality expected.
*
Interpret design specifications and technical drawings.
*
Create new templates and prototype electrical and A&E designs
*
Direct and coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
*
Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
*
Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
*
Plan layout of electric power distribution lines and stations. Attend site visits as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to interact with all levels of employees as well as staff at local jurisdictions

Mastery of EE engineering skills
*
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills

Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office

Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous projects, carriers, and vendors

Ability to establish current NCEES record and attain PE EE licensure in multiple states.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
*
Registered electrical engineer in at least 1 state (PE currency required)
*
4 + years of prior experience related to wireless site design electrical systems or equivalent preferred.
*
Knowledge of wireless site electrical layout and design required
*
Preferred experience in telecommunication wiring and equipment
ENVIRONMENT:
Most job duties performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Occasional travel OF 25% will be required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
