Job: Drug Treatment Specialist

The Drug Treatment Specialist is responsible for conducting interviews to determine inmates treatment eligibility; conducts drug education classes to groups of inmates; provides group and individual counseling to inmates with substance use disorders; writes treatment plans and psychosocial histories; and writes treatment summaries that are used to develop aftercare plans upon inmate release to the community.

Requirement:

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree that includes 24 semester hours in the behavioral or social sciences or a combination of education and experience that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences, and that provided applicant with knowledge of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a four-year degree. Must possess or be able to attain drug abuse treatment certification by the State of North Carolina within three years from date of hire. Must be able to pass background investigation, drug screen and medical evaluation.
