    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions has a Project Management position available within our Construction Materials Testing group for a Project Manager and QA/QC Professional. With a minimum of ten (10) years of experience, the successful candidate will assume a Project Management role to serve our existing clientele. The Project Manager will be responsible for discussing project scopes, establishing fees, and performing excellent work. As such, a rigid adherence to quality, and timely responses to our clients is imperative. Successful candidate will work well in a team setting, and be able to routinely perform on-site evaluations of Technicians performing work. Wood E&IS looks for individuals with strong leadership capabilities who takes ownership of projects until completion.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish relationships with existing clients and leveraging Wood E&IS capabilities to serve their needs
    • Negotiate a scope of services and fee format for proposal preparation
    • Lead efforts of Technicians to successfully execute the scope of services within contractual limits
    • Review and distribute daily field reports, documents, laboratory reports and findings completed by others
    • Assist with NCDOT and AASHTO Accredited Laboratory requirements
    • Participate in client and project meetings
    • Manage client communications, expectations and satisfaction
    • Write reports and technical memos
    • Recognize and initiate business development opportunities
    • Track staff certifications and submit training requests to the Department Team Leader
    • Manage, advise, coach and develop other staff for career development

    Skills / Qualifications

    Role Requirements:

    • Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree from an accredited college/university
    • 10+ years with combined field and Project Management experience - A minimum of two (2) years of Project Management is required
    • CMT related certifications (current or expired) and field experience with some or all of the following:
      • Concrete
      • Soils
      • Highway Materials
      • Geotechnical Lab and Construction
      • Asphalt
      • Concrete Field Testing Technician
      • Aggregate Base Testing Technician
      • Strength Testing Technician
      • Lab Testing Technician
      • Reinforced Concrete Inspector
      • Concrete Testing Certification (Lab/Field)
      • QC/QA Aggregate Testing Technician
      • Roadway Technician
      • Structures Inspector
      • Coatings Inspector
      • Soils
      • Reinforced Concrete
      • Structural Masonry
      • Fireproofing
      • Structural Steel and Bolting
      • Structural Welding
      • NICET
      • ACI
      • Nuclear Density Certification
      • Nuclear Density HazMat Training
      • NCDOT
      • ICC Special Inspector

      • First Aid/CPR/AED
    • Self-starter with strong oral and written communications skills
    • Detail oriented, proactive individual who takes ownership of their work
    • Availability to work outside normal business hours as required
    • Ability and willingness to travel to job location, and approximately 10% overnight travel
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
    • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and work for extended periods outside

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • North Carolina Professional Engineers License or ability to obtain
    • Leadership positions within construction oriented associations
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationship and win work
    • Motivated to develop business from new and existing clients
