Job Description
- Assists senior engineers in the engineering design, permitting and compliance monitoring of solid waste facilities as landfills, transfer stations, material recycling facilities, Waste-To-Energy facilities client and project requirements. Prepares draft designs, calculations and written reports for compliance with federal and or state and or local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on projects and in design work.
- Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary. May perform water quality analyses and modeling and or solid waste facilities related field observation and or sampling. May also assist internal and external teams in other engineering work as related to water/wastewater or storm water facilities.
- Leads and assists senior engineers to meet project scope, schedule, budget and quality.
- Contributes to firm's knowledge management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
- Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff.
- Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering or related discipline.

- Experience: 3 years of related experience.

- Travel: Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will be a Professional Engineer (P.E.), or working towards a P.E.
- 3 or more years of solid waste/landfill design experience, with a minimum B.S. degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field.
- This position is best suited for an individual that is excited to develop experience across a range of managerial and technical skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or MicroStation is required.
