About the team

The FIS Derivatives Utility team is a powerful combination of people, process and technology to support derivatives clearing. As a trusted provider of cost-efficient derivatives clearing technology for more than 30 years, FIS has long been a valued partner to the clearing industry. Through its post-trade systems, FIS technology is already responsible for processing the majority of the transactions in the market via the Clearvision™, GMI™ and UBIX™ systems. 

What you will be doing

As a Junior Utility Analyst you will work on the FIS Managed Service Platform Changes for the middle office. You will bring your experience with Microsoft Windows Server and a working knowledge of relational databases with an ability to read, write and debug nontrivial queries in this role. The Junior Analyst must also have the ability to comprehend and safely maintain a distributed architecture spanning multiple servers, with solutions for High Availability and Disaster Recovery

  • Knowledgeable with networking – IP addresses, NAT, firewall rules, protocols

  • Working knowledge of MQ or similar messaging infrastructure
  • Working with various exchanges and clearing brokers on trade clearance and allocations

What you bring:

  • Strong communications skills – the ability to explain production issues succinctly and distill them down to the core issue

  • An appreciation for what is required of a Futures Clearing Broker and what is therefore required of the person responsible for ensuring keeping the clearing application operational

  • Ready and able to work necessary hours – outages have to be addressed the same day, which can sometimes mean working until something has been corrected.  It is sometimes necessary to work on weekends to do mandatory exchange mandated testing, to prepare for a release, to do regression testing, or to meet with the global team during Asian or early morning hours.

  • Candidate should be able to work well under pressure

  • Proficient with Oracle databases

  • Strong organizational skills, able to coordinate testing with multiple organizations:  Front Office, Operations, vendor, and exchanges.
