Directs, coordinates and administers accounting policies, internal control structure and works closely with US and international accounting teams, Tax and other Finance functions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS (as appropriate).


  • Monitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies to ensure timely identification of emerging accounting pronouncements and provide interpretation of new accounting pronouncements in order to assist management in assessing financial and operational implications

  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards across external reporting and other functional teams within the company (immediate focus on ASC 606 and ASC 842)

  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures are in place, documented and being followed (test of internal controls); goal of SOX compliance within 18 months

  • Serve as a global technical accounting resource for ad-hoc questions and initiatives

  • Work with Sales, Sales Support and other areas of the business to review non-standard contracts and agreements, research relevant accounting guidance, and recommend accounting and disclosure requirements for complex non-routine transactions

  • Prepare technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions and support the review process with finance management and external auditors

  • Coordinate work for internal and external audits

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statement disclosures and GAAP/IFRS checklists for external audits

  • Participate in the selection of a new integrated accounting system


  • Strong understanding of US GAAP required; familiarity with IFRS a plus

  • Proven ability to research technical issues and exercise good business judgement in applying them to real-life situations
  • Proven ability to implement new accounting policies and ensure compliance across the organization
  • Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize; able to work collaboratively across department functions
  • Self-starter, fast learner; capable of working with limited direction while taking full ownership of their area of responsibility


  • Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience required; public/private mix preferred due to heavy involvement with accounting standards; international experience preferred

  • CPA designation required
