O'Berry is looking to fill two Health Care Technician II's and these will be on evening shift (3:00pm-11:30pm). These positions are certified Nursing Assistant I who is assigned as part of the daily care coverage for the home.  Besides serving in coverage, the position is responsible for assisting the Floor Shift Nurse Supervisor with basic daily operational needs of the Group Home. This position is responsible for placing orders for supplies necessary for resident care (those not ordered by Environmental Services).  These items include resident grooming items (Soap, Shampoos, Toothpaste and Brushes, Combs/Hair Brushes and lotions) and ordering Bed Linen, Bath Towels and Wash cloths.  This staff will take the lead on ensuring clothing needs of the residents are also ordered. The residents served are older adults who have complex medical and neuro-cognitive disorders and have significant developmental delays and intellectual deficits.  Over half of residents served are non-ambulatory.  Most of the others have some need for ambulation or mobility support.  This position reports administratively and clinically to the Floor Shift Nurse Supervisor (FSNS).  The position assists FSNS in the completion of the daily planner and ensures FSNS approves assignments; assist the FSNS in the development of the group home monthly work schedule as needed; assists the FSNS in the coordination of the annual leave schedule.  On a daily basis the position will assist the FSNS with coverage to ensure adequate staffing is maintained and also assist as call-ins occur. Monitor the home to ensure daily safety and sanitation of the home is not compromised.  They are also responsible for checking the kiosk documentation at the end of their shift to ensure all data has been entered that is required for the home and to report any issues that arise to the FSNS.  Assist the FSNS to ensure all mandatory training on the group home is completed by the due date. Assist in the orientation of new employees to the Group Homes, as well as state, federal and facility requirements, procedures and policies.

The O'Berry Neuro Medical Treatment Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina provides services through two distinct healthcare programs: Skilled nursing facility services (OBRA) and Developmental Disabilities (ICF-IID). Ninety-six beds are allocated to skilled nursing care for our medically-fragile individuals and the remaining beds at the facility are allocated to ICF level of care for our developmentally-disabled individuals who receive active treatment. In addition, O'Berry serves as the Eastern Regional Developmental Disability Respite Center.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience;
an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
