Hourly Rate of Pay: $7.25 - $35.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
Average 29 hours per work week
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health & Human Services - DSOHF - Central Regional Hospital. This position will provide occupational therapy services to a wide variety of patients. Patients range in age from 6 years to 90+. The majority of patients have a psychiatric diagnosis and in addition may have an accompanying physical diagnosis such as TBI, physical disability, stroke, or medical condition requiring treatment. Clinical responsibilities include assessment, individual treatment session, documentation, consultation and education of staff, patients and family members.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Ability to conduct basic evaluation of patient needs relating to treatment plan development.
- Strong interpersonal skills involving client centered philosophy and ability to work with psychiatric patient, physician, nursing staff and families.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of North Carolina.
Management Preferences: Candidates with competency in test administration and interpretation or standardized and non-standardized tests and experience working with patients ina psychiatric setting experience in individual treatment; exposure to or experience with recovery-oriented treatment
