    Job summary

    The Red Hat Ansible Automation Product Marketing team is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join us in Durham, NC. In this role, you will create content to help the global Red Hat Field Sales and Partnering teams further accelerate their success in one of the most innovative technology offerings in the market. You’ll also establish a clear understanding of the target customers, competition, business drivers, and selling motions of your sales channels and work across teams to design innovative marketing programs to guide customer and channel demand. You’ll develop marketing collateral and sales tools that will be used by Red Hat's Sales team and partners. You will work cross-functionally and globally with numerous teams, including Portfolio Marketing, Product Management, Campaigns Marketing, Technical Marketing, Partner Management, Field Marketing, Channel Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Services teams. You’ll conduct research, craft market strategies, and develop content to support demand generation and enable field sales and Red Hat’s channel partners. You’ll be in charge of developing, communicating, and implementing activities aligned with the business plan. As a Product Marketing Manager, you’ll need to be able to understand customer needs and develop compelling messaging, as you will spend time communicating with both customers and partners. Qualified remote candidates based in the U.S. will also be considered. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Help us tell stories that resonate with the field and with our customers to help propel the business forward
    • Create effective marketing assets and content, including presentations, case studies, solutions briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
    • Jointly create technical marketing collateral with technical marketing managers, engineers, and field marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, and case studies
    • Collaborate with product management teams to ensure that marketing plans align with the directions and support offering roadmaps and releases
    • Create concise and compelling core messaging for our offerings that will embody the key attributes of an offering, including value proposition, use cases, and differentiation
    • Participate in technical aspects of the go-to-market engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, solutions demos, and industry and partner events
    • Support engagements where required in high-touch accounts worldwide by collaborating with field sales and services teams
    • Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint-value propositions
    • Manage asset repository for the Red Hat Ansible Automation solutions-related content
    • Develop and deliver enablement and training activities for the sales team
    • Collaborate with other product teams to create multi-offering and multi-solution marketing materials that address customer use cases and challenges

    Required skills

    • 3+ years of product marketing experience
    • 5+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure software like operating systems, cloud, or system management
    • Understanding of the common technical jargon of the information technology (IT) infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and the system management space
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, computer science, or a related area
    • Record of success in a fast-paced technical environment
    • Ability to translate technology features into customer benefits, develop proof points and value propositions for our offerings, and create high-value assets to communicate and promote our solutions both internally and externally
    • Experience with content creation and an ability to create messaging and positioning based on conversations with technical stakeholders
    • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to medium to large audiences
    • Ability and experience working in a persuasion-oriented, cross-functional environment similar to a startup with minimal supervision
    • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at once in a highly complex environment
    • Critical thinking skills with a proven ability to develop creative solutions
    • Willingness to travel over 25%, especially if remote-based
    • Effective writing and presentation skills


    The following are considered a plus:

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
    • Domain knowledge of and experience with open source projects
    • Pragmatic Marketing experience
    • Experience with product management or campaign management
