Assembles, services, repairs, and maintains all machinery and equipment in the Power House and Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant with little or no directions from immediate supervision.  Maintains legible records, as required, in the Power House and Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant.

MAJOR DUTIES (Attach Additional Pages As Needed)

·     Oils, greases, repairs, and cleans motors, pumps, gears, bearings and all types of equipment in the Power House and the

·     Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant.

·     Installs, checks, adjusts, repairs machinery and miscellaneous equipment as required for  plant operation in compliance with

·     national, state, county and city codes. 

·     Inspects and makes repairs, as needed, to maintain preventive maintenance programs.

·     Maintains required records.

·     Monitors and operates equipment in accordance with established procedures.

·     Maintains safe working conditions in assigned work areas.

·     Keeps assigned work area clean and orderly.

·     Assists in training of tech levels C, B and A as required.

·     Has ability to operate shop equipment as required.

·     Has a working knowledge of all major equipment and systems in Power House and Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant.

·     Plans, initiates, and completes job assignments in a prompt and timely manner.

·     Makes suggestions to management on better, more efficient and less costly methods in the operation of the Power House or

·     Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant.

·     Communicates immediately to supervision any personnel problems, job coordination problems, parts or tool shortages, product

·     or chemical spills, damage observed to equipment, building or utilities, accidents or safety hazards, company policy violations,

·     or any other information which in his/her judgment requires attention.

·     Assist group leader and departmental supervision in organizing and planning daily work requirements.

·     Must be able to respond to plant emergencies.


·     At least five (5) years experience in maintenance of  Power House and Industrial Waste Water Treatment equipment.

·     Ability to operate power tools in addition to common hand tools safely and effectively.

·     Maintains a good work attendance record and is available to work overtime as required.

·     Must be able to arrange short notice or emergency transportation.

·     Ability to read and work from detailed blue prints and schematics as required.

·     Have a good working knowledge of Power House and Industrial Waste Water Treatment systems.

·     Ability to train other tech levels as well as other tech level A employees.

·     Must be able to provide hand tools as required.

·     Ability to work with minimum supervision.

·     Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds and maneuver containers weighing up to 500 lbs.

·     Able to push and pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs.

·     Able to stand and/or walk 90% (and sit 10%) of an 8-hr day which includes climbing a ladder or steps.

·     Must meet the vision and hearing requirements.

·     Must meet the forklift requirements.

·     Must meet the respirator requirements.

Minimum Education Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Years Experience Required:

Five (5) years experience
