    Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for SEARSTONE Retirement Community in Cary, North Carolina, near Raleigh and Durham. This is a 275 Resident Upscale Living Community located in the thriving and innovative state capital of NC, Raleigh! Our Sodexo 5 Star Dining program brings the whole community to life with; formal dining in The White Horse Bar & Grille and casual dining by the pool! We also celebrate special and themed events in our Grand Ballroom!

    In this role, you manage the culinary operations for all food outlets including resident dining, retail, and catering services. Responsibilities include: managing daily food production including production planning and controls, ensuring Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality, labor and food cost controls, menu development and inventory management, collaborate with Clinical Team for Resident Satisfaction, complete special projects as assigned by the General Manager. As the technical expert and trainer for cooks and kitchen personnel, you take pride and ownership of the dining experience, communicate Sodexo's values and continue to foster rapport with the client/residents at this location.

    Reports to General Manager and manages a staff of 12 FT employees. Typical shift will be 9:00am-6:00pm, may vary with every other weekend coverage. A culinary degree is desired.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    - Manages food & physical safety programs.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
