Position Details

Position Summary

We are currently looking to build our pipeline for future positions nationwide within the European brands of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Porsche. Dealership experience is highly preferred, however, past teaching is not needed and we will train! This position delivers technical training to OEM dealership personnel through theoretical instructions in a class environment as well as significant workshop exercises. The training consists of independent study training hand-outs, relevant materials and vehicle systems (hands-on) to constantly improve the understanding of systems and components and stay current on new technology. Position responsibilities include organizing and maintaining the professional appearance of the classroom and the student workshop demonstration area. It also requires maintaining training vehicles, and providing administrative support for training vehicles, as well as participating in the improvement/development of courses through organized feedback.

Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables

Delivers technical training on Group models, systems and components in a class environment using state of the art audio visual equipment as well as work shop exercises to enhance the student’s understanding. Instructor delivery must be lively and speaking from memory without reading off a book or notes at all times.

Presents and coaches students during workshop exercises.

Studies the presented material ahead of time and is able to answer relevant questions. Conducts “quizzes” after the delivery of training modules to gauge the student’s understanding and the success of the delivery.

Studies training hand-outs, relevant materials and vehicle systems through hands-on research on vehicles.

Comprehends the hand-outs, the instructor’s guide. Prepares own notes within the instructor’s guide.

Goes through all workshop exercises prior to teaching the course. Prepares the student worksheet and has the expected answers/results marked within the instructor’s guide.

For every system, has a specific set of learning objectives as outlined in the instructor’s guide. Follows the instructor’s guide’s learning objectives and outline.

Ensures professional appearance of the student seating area, the student workshop demonstration area, and training vehicles. Makes sure that the storage areas stay uncluttered

Ensures that all Safety Regulations and OSHA requirements are met and adhered to. Reports unsatisfactory conditions immediately and/or takes immediate action to resolve them.

In cooperation with the central training office, ensures the complete availability of training hand-outs, giveaway items and course attendance and completion recognition items.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education / Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D required.

Vocational School Certificate or Associates Degree in Applied Sciences desirable Bachelors Degree preferred

Experience in specific types of positions or functions necessary for adequate performance in this position would include two to three years as an automotive technician

Three to five years experience in automotive retail.


Advanced skills in Acrobat and MS Office, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to create documents using Adobe (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) and Quark (Xpress desktop publishing software) preferred

Excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.

Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to use DisPlus/GT1 and 3g Equipment


Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds 5% or less of the workday

Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday

Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday

Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment.

Overnight travel may be required on occasion
