Overall Job Objective

Position Description

This position is responsible for coordinating all instructional and academic activities within the department, and supervising curriculum and continuing education course development.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

* Develops educational programs to achieve the institution's objectives and to meet the standards established by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in Neurodiagnostic Technology (CoA-NDT)

* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner

* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance

* Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour

* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment

* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner

* Advises Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program students; evaluates course substitutions

* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the program

* Reviews faculty and adjunct applications and make recommendations

* Leads and mentors instructors and adjuncts

* Makes budget recommendations

* Plans and conducts monthly program meetings as needed

* Assists with ordering, distribution, storage and management of supplies and equipment for the clinic; confers with instructors to determine supply and equipment needs

* Maintains and updates affiliation agreements and processes to ensure all students and faculty meet credentialing requirements for each agency assigned

* Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction to maintain currency and rigor and to fully implement and evaluate student learning outcomes and overall program outcomes

* Devises and directs maintenance of a record system of clinical experience, exits and reentries, grades, and general background information for each student

* Collaborates with student services staff and faculty to develop and implement admission standards for Electroneurodiagnostic Technology students

Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course

Maintains regular office hours

Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom

Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching

Serves on college or department committees as needed

Schedules and hosts advisory board meetings at least two times per year

Attends professional development opportunities when possible

Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and
constructing a syllabus

Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate

Participates in graduation exercises

Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising

Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision

Proficiency in communication skills, both written and oral

Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential

Excellent organizational skills
 
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Program OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Education, Public Health, Health Science, Administration, Organization Psychology)

Active Registered Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist (R EEG T) credential

Five years clinical and/or teaching experience

Current BLS certification

Supervisory and leadership experience.
 
Preferences:

Additional credentials within the neurodiagnostic profession (e.g. R EP T, CLTM, CNIM, R NCS, RPSGT and DABNM)

Five years supervisory and leadership experience
